The Schwinn MY17 470 2017 Elliptical Trainer is the updated model of the Schwinn 470 2013 and they have virtually the same high-quality features we’ve come to expect from Schwinn but with a couple of exceptions:

  • The Schwinn MY17 470 2017 has a newly designed console that’s designed to be more user friendly, yet still retains all the high-end features, range of programs etc. as the 2013 elliptical trainer.
  • The Schwinn MY17 470 2017 has the addition of Bluetooth connectivity which the 2013 elliptical trainer does not have.  The Bluetooth connectivity of the 2017 cross trainer enables seamless transferring of your workout stats to online fitness tracking apps.  You can however still transfer your stats online with the 2013 model but via its USB port instead of Bluetooth.

Both the Schwinn MY17 470 2017 and Schwinn 470 2013 elliptical machines are sturdily constructed and utilize a high-speed high-inertia perimeter-weighted flywheel combined with ECB magnetic resistance to give smooth momentum and quiet operation.

The Schwinn MY17 470 2017 and Schwinn 470 2013 offer a comfortable 20” Precision Path stride length and large cushioned articulating footplates.  Both cross trainers feature static and moving ergonomic handles for user comfort.

Offering a total body low-impact workout, the Schwinn 470 elliptical trainers have plenty of options to keep your workouts varied and challenging including 25 resistance levels, 29 preset programs, and 10 degree adjustable motorized incline.  The motorized incline adds a new dimension to your workouts and is a real bonus as it’s typically only found on cross trainers at a much higher price point.

Although the Schwinn MY17 470 2017’s console has been redesigned for ease of use, both the 2017 and 2013 models feature Dual Track blue backlit LCD screens and display a wide range of motivating workout stats including time, speed, distance, calories and heart-rate.  Both models allow for up to 4 user profiles and offer both pulse-grip and telemetry-enabled heart-rate monitoring to help you reach and stay within your target heart-rate zone.

Additional premium features included on both the 2017 and 2013 Schwinn 470 elliptical trainers include a sound system (acoustic chamber speakers with MP3 input), USB charging port, media shelf, 3-speed cooling fan, water bottle holder, and a 300 lbs user weight capacity.

Let’s take a look at the full features and specifications that the Schwinn MY17 470 2017 and Schwinn 470 2013 have to offer to help you decide on which is the best elliptical trainer for you:

All 3 of the Schwinn Airdyne exercise bikes offer an effective cardio and total body workout, synchronizing arm and leg motions with moving handlebars to work your upper body and foot-pedals to work your lower body.

The Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro, AD6 and AD6 exercise bikes utilize unique air/wind resistance that works on the premise that the faster/harder you pedal, the harder the resistance becomes and effectively allows for unlimited resistance levels.

The Airdyne AD Pro is Schwinn’s top-of-the-range air fan exercise.  Utilizing commercial-grade components, the AD Pro is designed for high-intensity training, making it better suited for the more serious athlete and commercial-gym settings.

The Schwinn AD6 and AD2 are well-built air fan exercise bikes, better suited for people looking to get fit in the comfort of their own homes, with the AD6 being suitable for moderate workouts while the AD2 is suitable for lighter exercise.

Besides the commercial-grade components that the Schwinn AD Pro is constructed with, it also has the advantage of preset workout programs for variety and challenge that the AD6 and AD2 do not have.  The AD Pro and AD6 both offer telemetry enabled heart-rate monitoring to help you keep track of and stay within your target heart rate zone – a feature that the Schwinn AD2 does not have.
