Both the Bowflex Max Trainer M5 and M3 feature the Max Trainer’s renowned Max 14 Min Interval program that’s designed to give you all the cardio benefits of a much longer workout, producing better results in a shorter amount of time – perfect for busy people!

The Bowflex Max Trainer M5 is the higher-end model over the M3 and as such offers more programs (9 compared to 2) and resistance levels (16 compared to 8) as well as Bluetooth connectivity for online fitness tracking which the M3 does not have.  In addition, the Max Trainer M5 has several upgrades in design such as a backlit LCD/LED monitor (as opposed to non-backlit on the M3) and improved ergonomic handlebars and foot-pedals.  (See full features, specifications and program variety detailed in the tables below.)

Both the Bowflex Max Trainer M5 and M3 Cardio Machines offer 2 user profiles, target zone and burn rate indicators, media shelf, water bottle holder and front-mounted transport wheels.  Both Max Trainer machines offer heart-rate monitoring but the M5 offers both contact and telemetry heart-rate monitoring whereas the M3 only has telemetry (heart-rate chest strap included with both machines).
