All 3 of the Schwinn Airdyne exercise bikes offer an effective cardio and total body workout, synchronizing arm and leg motions with moving handlebars to work your upper body and foot-pedals to work your lower body.
The Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro (AD7), AD6 and AD2 exercise bikes utilize unique air/wind resistance that works on the premise that the faster/harder you pedal, the harder the resistance becomes and effectively allows for unlimited resistance levels.

The Airdyne AD Pro (AD7) is Schwinn’s top-of-the-range air fan exercise. Utilizing commercial-grade components, the AD Pro is designed for high-intensity training, making it better suited for the more serious athlete and commercial-gym settings.
The Schwinn AD6 and AD2 are well-built air fan exercise bikes, better suited for people looking to get fit in the comfort of their own homes, with the AD6 being suitable for moderate workouts while the AD2 is suitable for lighter exercise.
Besides the commercial-grade components that the Schwinn AD Pro is constructed with, it also has the advantage of preset workout programs for variety and challenge that the AD6 and AD2 do not have. The AD Pro and AD6 both offer telemetry enabled heart-rate monitoring to help you keep track of and stay within your target heart rate zone – a feature that the Schwinn AD2 does not have.
Other differences in features between the Schwinn AD Pro, AD6 and AD2 Airdyne exercise bikes include differences in type of drive system used, seat adjustability, handlebar design, user weight capacity and overall weight/dimensions of the bike itself. See what customers who have bought either the Schwinn Airdyne AD Pro (AD7), AD6 or AD2 Air Fan Exercise Bikes have to say about them:
C.P.:
“I love my AD Pro. I swapped out the seat for a nice fat padded cruiser seat and different pedals that I preferred. I’m a big man, 260 lbs, and it withstands my weight no problem. This is my first air exercise bike so I can’t compare it to any other models, but it does what I need it to do. It seems to be quite sturdy so I’m hoping to be using it for years to come.”
A.C.:
“The Schwinn AD Pro is a professional and heavy duty exercise bike. Both myself and my partner are delighted with its performance.”
V.O.:
“The Schwinn AD6 is a top-notch bike and gives a great workout. It wasn’t difficult to finish putting it together – my husband and son did it in just a few minutes – and it came with good directions.”
E.D.:
“I bought the Schwinn AD6 after using the exact same one at my cardiac rehab class. It’s a very sturdy bike and was easy to assemble (took 2 people to assemble it).
A.M.:
“The Schwinn AD2 is a nice exercise bike. It was easy to set up. If you’re used to the older and much heavier Schwinn Airdyne models, this bike takes some getting used to. Having said that, this bike works well and is actually much quieter than the older model. Overall, excellent value for the price.”
D.V.:
“I’ve only had the Schwinn AD2 for a week, but so far am loving it. I don’t see any reason to spend more money for the higher models, this is so good. It works smoothly and quietly. The only thing I would say is that the seat is very uncomfortable so you may have to plan on dealing with that. Assembly was minimal and tools were included. The screen displays elapsed time, calories, distance, RPMs and speedometer – it cycles through these displays one at a time every 30 seconds. I would suggest you buy a stand-alone heart-rate monitor if you want to monitor your heart-rate.”
