Calorie burn is impressive too with the MaxiClimber Vertical Climbers – you can burn twice as many calories per workout with HIIT routines compared to other exercise machines (e.g. treadmills) in the same amount of time. You’ll also activate up to 45% increase in AfterBurn for continued calorie burn after you’ve finished your MaxiClimber workout.
The MaxiClimber XL-2000 is the newest and updated version of the Original MaxiClimber Classic Vertical Climber. The redesigned MaxiClimber XL-2000 incorporates an Hydraulic Resistance System which the Original MaxiClimber Classic does not have.
MaxiClimber XL-2000 features include Hydraulic Resistance System |
The Hydraulic Resistance System of the MaxiClimber XL-2000 offers bi-directional 12 levels of resistance, allowing you to adjust and control the intensity of your workout. The Original MaxiClimber Classic Vertical Climber does not have adjustable resistance but works on the premise of using your own body weight to create resistance.
Both the MaxiClimber XL-2000 and Original MaxiClimber Classic Vertical Climbers come with a simple-to-use LCD monitor (battery operated) that displays motivating workout data as you exercise including time, count, total count, calories and scan.

The MaxiClimber XL-2000 has the advantage of having an integrated mobile device holder which the Original MaxiClimber Classic does not have.

Both MaxiClimbers are adjustable for different user heights, although the XL-2000 allows for a higher range up to 6.6 ft compared to 6.2 ft maximum user height on the Original MaxiClimber Classic.
Both MaxiClimber Vertical Climber machines feature non-slip hand-grips for user comfort. The foot pedals differ between the two machines, with the XL-2000 having full-size swivelling pedals compared to the Original MaxiClimber Classic’s standard pedals.
Both MaxiClimbers are sturdily constructed but the XL-2000 is heavier than the Original MaxiClimber Classic and therefore supports a higher user weight capacity of up to 300 lbs compared to the 240 lbs maximum user weight capacity on the Original MaxiClimber Classic.
Both MaxiClimber Vertical Climbers are constructed with a space-saving folding design for easy storage. The XL-2000 has the advantage of integrated rollers for easy transportation which the Original MaxiClimber Classic does not have. Being the lighter machine though, the Original Classic should be fairly easy to relocate if needed (the XL-2000 weighs around 51 lbs while the Original Classic weighs around 33 lbs).
There’s also a slight difference in the overall footprint between these two MaxiClimber Vertical Climbers with the XL-2000 having a footprint of around 25.78” long x 41.33” wide, while the Original Classic has a footprint of around 28.3” long x 35.82” wide (unfolded).

MaxiClimber XL-2000 Hydraulic Resistance Vertical Climber |
Original MaxiClimber Classic Vertical Climber |
Summary:
The MaxiClimber
Vertical Climbers are well-constructed exercise machines that don’t take up too
much space, making them ideal for home use.
They give a VERY effective workout – you’ll definitely feel the burn and
see results in next to no time!
The Hydraulic
Resistance System of the new MaxiClimber XL-2000 makes a big difference in that
you can adjust the intensity of your workout up/down rather than just relying
on your own body weight and is well worth the extra $$s. But if you’re not bothered about the
adjustable resistance, then you may still be able to pick up the Original
MaxiClimber at a real bargain!
Besides the
difference in the resistance systems between these two Vertical Climbers,
remember to bear in mind the other differences of the MaxiClimbers listed in
the comparison tables above that may affect you such as user height and weight
capacity. For the taller or heavier
person the XL-2000 may be the better option for you.
